GovBot Energy Infrastructure

Terms of use

Local draft, in preparation. This service is not live. These terms may change before launch.

These terms cover the GovBot Energy Infrastructure service, provided by Ideation Lab, Corp.

Read-only research tool

The service gives read-only access to public EIA and DOE NETL/HIFLD records for research and general information. It does not create, change or submit records with any agency.

Sources and attribution

Data comes from the EIA-860M August 2026 preliminary generator inventory and from dated EIA map layers. When you reuse results, credit EIA as the source and include the source dates the service reports. Official sources: eia.gov/electricity/data/eia860m/ and eia.gov/maps/. GovBot is not affiliated with or endorsed by EIA.

Transmission records: HIFLD, hosted by DOE NETL. Includes data from © OpenStreetMap contributors, available under ODbL 1.0. Original source credits remain in each record. Prepared free data: generalized transmission database and transformation notes. These planned public addresses become available after deployment.

The derived transmission database is offered under ODbL 1.0 as applicable to database rights GovBot can grant; underlying source rights and credits remain. Its download contains attribution and license notices, with transformation notes alongside. Application access limits protect service availability and do not restrict rights granted under that data license. EIA holdings and GovBot software are separate.

No guarantees

Acceptable use

Transmission voltage does not establish power capacity, spare capacity or connectivity. Historical/live outage records and restoration estimates are excluded.

Changes

These terms may be updated, and the service may change or be discontinued.
