GovBot Energy Infrastructure

GovBot Energy Infrastructure

Status: in preparation. This service is not live and has not been submitted or published to any directory. This page is a local draft.

GovBot Energy Infrastructure is a read-only research tool. It answers questions about U.S. power plants, generating capacity, fuel facilities, pipelines and transmission lines using public EIA and DOE NETL/HIFLD data that is held with the service.

Three research briefs

Data the service holds

All data is held with the service. Your queries are not forwarded to EIA or any other agency at runtime. No user API key or agency account is required.

Official sources: EIA-860M (eia.gov/electricity/data/eia860m/) and EIA maps (eia.gov/maps/).

Transmission records: HIFLD, hosted by DOE NETL. Includes data from © OpenStreetMap contributors, available under ODbL 1.0. Original source credits remain in each record. Prepared free data: generalized transmission database and transformation notes. These planned public addresses become available after deployment.

Planned operations

See About the plugin above for data sources and the three research briefs.

Transmission kV is voltage, not power capacity in MW or available interconnection capacity. Historical and live outage records and restoration estimates are not included.

Planned addresses

None of these addresses is live yet. There is no install link or demo.
