Privacy notice

This notice covers the GovBot Energy Infrastructure service, planned at energy-api.govbot.ai and operated by Ideation Lab, Corp.

What the service receives

Requests contain only the inputs an operation needs:

• public research coordinates, a state or a source balancing-authority code
• record or facility type
• search scope, such as a radius or bounding area
• result limits

Use public research points only. Please do not enter a home address, your device location or other personal information.

How queries are processed

• Queries are answered from public EIA and DOE NETL/HIFLD data held with the service and are processed in memory.
• Queries are not forwarded to EIA or any other external service.
• The service does not ask for accounts, API keys or payment details.

Retention

• Application handling: the application does not log or persist request arguments or returned record payloads. It reads persistent, bundled public source files and holds decoded source indexes in process memory; it does not keep a query-result cache. Its operational output is a startup message. Hosting logs: Google Cloud Logging’s _Default bucket in the hosting project is configured for 30-day retention of the operational records routed to it. This describes that bucket’s configuration; separate provider, security and administration records may follow different policies. The service’s actual log routing will be checked before launch. These application statements do not describe the client, hosting provider, support email or canonical website policies.
• Support email: messages sent to hello@govbot.ai are kept until they are deleted manually. There is no fixed deletion schedule.

The service also offers a free download of its separate generalized transmission database and transformation notes. Download requests do not require an account. Hosting providers may process operational request metadata under their policies; the download does not contain user queries.

Other policies

The app or assistant you use to reach this service has its own privacy policy, and so does the govbot.ai website. This notice does not cover them.
